CAK Coaching Staff

The Canton-Akron Coaching staff is one of the best and most extensive around! The lead coaches in the program are all Certified coaches with extensive coaching and playing experience. The program utilizes an academy approach to training allowing our coaches to work with more than one team at practice sessions and games. The goal is to develop the technical and tactical skills necessary to prepare players for high school soccer and beyond!

Michael Biros

Jackson Boys Varsity

Coach Biros has been the head coach at Jackson for ten years. He has lead the Polar Bears to a 147-46-21 record with 9 Federal League Championships, 7 District Championships, 1 Regional Championship, 4 Regional Finalists and a State Final Appearance in 2007. He has been named Federal League coach of the year four times, Stark County coach of the year three times, and the Greater Akron District coach of the year three times. Biros is also the Director of Coaching and  Development  for  the CAK program. Biros currently holds a USSF National Coaching License. Biros was a 4-time All-Conference and 3-time Region All-American selection at Hiram College. He briefly played professionally in Columbus after college, but moved on to teaching and coaching.

Doug Nelson

CAK President

Coach Nelson is starting his fourth year of coaching with CAK. He is also the CAK president. Doug is a former standout player at Mount Union. He also brings aweath of experience and leadership with non-profit programs. He currently holds a USSF Youth 'E' Coaching License.

John Gonzalez

Jackson Varsity Asst.

CAK Asst DOC U13/14

Coach Gonzalez has been an assistant in Jackson for the past nine seasons. He has been a key development coach at the middle grades. He was also a standout player at Malone and Walsh University. Gonzalez currently holds a USSF 'D' National Coaching License.

Taylor Ward

CAK Asst DOC U8-10

Dir of Jr Academy

Coach Ward is a graduate of Jackson High School where he was a three year starter. He has been the lead coach of the youth program for the past three years for our 9 and 10 year old  teams. He holds a USSF 'D' National Coaching License.

Dan Harlan

Green HS Var Asst

CAK Skills Director

Dan Harlan is a former standout at Green HS and Walsh University. He coached in Green Youth Soccer and Green High School for 5 years. He currently holds a USSF National Youth License and the National 'D' Coaching License.

Quebec Gibbins

 

 

 

 

Casey Marks

Quebec is a graduate of Jackson High School where he was a three year starter. He helped Jackson make it to the state finals in 2007 and regional finals in 2008. He is starting his third year with the U9 and U10 age groups. Previously, he spent several years working with the Junior Academy. He holds a USSF Youth 'E' Coaching License.

 

Casey is former standout at Mount Union University where he returned as an assistant.

 

 

Jason Nelson

Green HS Var Asst

CAK Asst DOC 11/12

Jason is a graduate of Malone University as a 4 year starter and 2 year captain. He was also a two-year all-conference selection. The former standout at Green high school has returned home to coach all levels as a varsity assistant and youth coach for the past 8 years. He also has experience coaching all levels of premier club soccer. Jason holds a USSF National Youth License and USSF 'D' National Coaching License.

Ross Cochran

Jackson HS Var Asst

Ross Cochran has been with Jackson Select/CAK for three years. He also worked with the high school program over the
  past couple years. Ross was a standout player for Malone College as well as a former youth national team member in Scotland. Ross has also played professionally with the Ohio Vortex. Ross currently holds a USSF Youth 'E' Coaching License.

Nathaniel Milhoan

Chad Flath

Chad is a former all-state player at Wadworth HS and standout at Walsh University. Chad brings several years of camp and skills coaching experience.

Camden McCreary

Camden is a former All-American at Jackson High School and 3-time all-conference selection at Walsh University. He enters his third year of coaching at Jackson Select/CAK. He currently
holds a USSF Youth ‘E’ Coaching License.

Adam Greenwood

Adam is a former youth international player from the Blackpool youth academy in England and current 4 year starter at Walsh University. Adam brings a wealth of knowledge and experience running youth clinics, camps, and skills classes. He holds an FA Youth Coaching badge.
