Jackson Select Coaching Staff

The Jackson Select Coaching staff is one of the best around! The lead coaches in the program are all Certified coaches with extensive coaching and playing experience. The program utilizes more of an academy approach to training allowing our coaches to work with more than one team at practice sessions and games. The goal is to develop the technical and tactical skills necessary to prepare JSSC players for high school soccer and beyond!
Michael Biros Director of Coaching Director of Instruction Jackson Boys Varsity Coach	Coach Biros has been the head coach at Jackson for ten years. He has lead the Polar Bears to a 135-42-19 record with 8 Federal League Championships, 5 District Championships, 1 Regional Championship, 4 Regional Finalists and a State Final Appearance in 2007. He has been named Federal League coach of the year four times, Stark County coach of the year three times, and the Greater Akron District coach of the year three times. Biros is also the Director of Coaching and Instruction for the Jackson Select Soccer Club. He also coached for seven years at Norton and moved the Panthers to one of the top Div II teams in Akron. He served as coaching director to Diamond Soccer Club and ACP premier soccer clubs in the Canton area back in the 90's. Biros currently holds a USSF National Coaching License. Biros was a 4-time 1st Team All-Conference and 3-time Region All-American selection at Hiram College. He briefly played professionally in Columbus after college, but moved on to teaching and coaching.
Doug Nelson	Coach Nelson is starting his second year of coaching with Jackson Select. He is also the new Jackson Select Program director. Doug is a former standout player at Mount Union. He also brings aweath of experience and leadership with non-profit programs.
John Gonzalez JSSC U13/14 Lead Coach Jackson Boys Varsity Coach	Coach Gonzalez has been an assistant in Jackson for the past eight seasons. He has been a key development coach at the middle grades. He was also a standout player at Malone and Walsh University. Gonzalez currently holds a USSF 'D' Coaching License.
Ross Cochran JSSC U13/14 Lead Coach Jackson Boys Varsity Coach	Ross Cochran has been with Jackson Select for two years. He also worked with the high school program in 2010. Ross was a standout player for Malone College as well as a former youth national team member in Scotland. Ross is currently still playing with the Ohio Vortex in the PASL professional indoor league.
Jim Mueller	Coach Mueller enters his fourth year ofcoaching at Jackson Select. He was a four year starter at Mount Union College where he was Team Captain for two years. He also served as the Assistant Coach at Mount Union for the 95 and 96 seasons. More recently, Jim directed the Mueller Soccer Camp in the Akron area from 1999 through 2002. He has been actively involved in coaching Youth soccer for the past 15 years through organized programs, as well as youth soccer camps.
Quebec Gibbins	Quebec is a graduate of Jackson High School where he was a three year starter. He helped Jackson make it to the state finals in 2007 and regional finals in 2008. He is starting his second year with the U9 and U10 age groups. Previously, he spent several years working with the Junior Academy. He holds a USSF Youth Coaching License.
Taylor Ward Lead Coach U9-10	Coach Ward is a graduate of Jackson High School where he was a two year starter. He has been the lead coach of the youth program for the past two years for our 9 and 10 year old teams. He holds a USSF Youth Coaching License.
Jason Galley	Jason is a graduate of Jackson High School where he was a two year starter. He is starting his second year with the U9 and U10 age groups. Previously, he spent several years working with the Junior Academy. He holds a USSF Youth Coaching License.
